- When the current configuration is set to OS/2 Desktop 800x600 and you reboot
- system without a CRT connected, the display does not drop down to 640x480 in
- the panel, as it does in windows. When reconnect the CRT, the display comes
- up on the CRT.

- How to Install OS/2 Desktop Driver & WIN-OS/2 Full-Screen Session
- -----------------------------------------------------------------
- This procedure uses the user-selected resolution & color for OS/2 Desktop
- and 640x480 16 colors as the default for a WIN-OS/2 Full-Screen Session.
-
- 1. Make sure the 62x5 OS/2 Driver disk is labeled "DISP" by using DOS
- Label command (C:\DOS\LABEL A: or B:).
- 2. Install OS/2 v2.1 (if not already installed) and select "VGA" as the
- primary display adapter during installation. Do not select "Cirrus Logic"
- because it currently only suppports Cirrus Logic desktop products.
- 3. Select the proper display device, such as panel or CRT.
- 4. Insert the Cirrus Logic 62x5 OS/2 Driver disk into the floppy drive.
- 5. Open an OS/2 Full-Screen session.
- 6. Change the prompt to the floppy drive which contains the driver disk.
- 7. Invoke the OS/2 batch file CLINST21.CMD using OS/2 boot drive, without
- a colon, as the parameter ([A:\]CLINST21 C).
- 8. Select the primary display type and "Cirrus Logic 62x5 Panel/CRT driver".
- 9. If you plan to start out on Panel or SimulSCAN display, choose 640x480
- resolution.
- 10. Follow the applicable directions as they appear on screen.

- Follow steps 5-10 above (WIN-OS/2 Full-Screen session will be reset to
- 640x480 16 colors).

- Only one configuration is supported (see OS/2 Desktop Driver
- Limitations above).

- If you are running OS/2 2.1:
-
- 1. Install the Cirrus Logic 640x480 16 color OS/2 driver.
- 2. Add sdisplay.drv=SWINVGA.DRV in the [boot] section in
- \OS2\MDOS\WINOS2\SYSTEM.INI file.

- If you are running OS/2 2.1 for Windows:
-
- 1. Install the Cirrus Logic 640x480 16 color OS/2 driver.
- 2. Add sdisplay.drv=SWINVGA.DRV in the [boot] section in
- \WINDOWS\SYSTEM.INI file.

- How to Change Resolution & Colors in WIN-OS/2 Full-Screen Session
- -----------------------------------------------------------------
- If you are running OS/2 2.1:
-
- 1. Open Win-OS/2 Full-Screen session.
- 2. Select File from drop-down menu in Windows Program Manager.
- 3. Insert the GD62X5 OS/2 2.1 Driver disk into A: or B: and run
- INSTALL.EXE.
- 4. A VGAUTIL group will be created. Click SetRES icon to change resolution
- and colors. Run CRT, PAN, SimulSCAN to switch display.

- If you are running OS/2 2.1 for Windows:
-
- 1. If you have already installed the SetRES utilities from the Windows
- driver disk v1.30, use SetRES to change resolution and colors.
- Otherwise, go to the next step.
- 2. Open Windows.
- 3. Select File from drop-down menu in Windows Program Manager.
- 4. Insert the Windows driver disk v1.30 into A: or B: and run INSTALL.EXE.
- 5. A VGAUTIL group will be created. Click SetRES icon to change
- resolution and colors. Run CRT, PAN, SimulSCAN to switch display.

- Special Case when running OS/2 2.1 for Windows
- ----------------------------------------------
- If you are running OS/2 2.1 for Windows and have installed the Cirrus
- Logic OS/2 drivers and wish to switch between OS/2 and Windows running
- under DOS, the following changes must be made to the SYSTEM.INI file.

- Return to Windows running under DOS from OS/2:
-
- 1. Boot to DOS from OS/2 Desktop (click Dual-boot icon).
- 2. While in DOS, open \WINDOWS\SYSTEM.INI and comment out the line
- OS2vers=21 in [CLVGA] session (;OS2vers=2).

- Return to OS/2 from Windows running under DOS:
-
- 1. While in DOS, open \WINDOWS\SYSTEM.INI and take out the ";" in
- front of OS2vers=21 in [CLVGA] session.
- 2. Change to OS/2 directory (cd \os2).
- 3. Boot to OS/2 (boot /os2).
